Why DEXA sites run on Astro
A client never sees the tech choice — they feel it in speed, in security, and in whether the site is theirs. We build marketing sites on Astro. Not a fashion: a set of checkable reasons.
Why we choose Astro
-
Fast sites on real phones
71% of Astro sites pass Core Web Vitals versus 48% of WordPress (Gatsby 45%, Next.js 35%, Nuxt 28%).

“Fast by default”
Astro calls itself “server-first” and “content-driven”: speed is built into the architecture, not squeezed out of it later with optimisations.

The least JavaScript
A page carries no needless JS by default — only the blocks that need it are interactive (“islands”). Per Astro, the same site loads about 40% faster and ~90% lighter than on the most popular React framework.

Safer than WordPress
A public page has no plugins or database to breach. The WordPress ecosystem logged 11,334 new vulnerabilities in 2025, 91% of them in plugins.

No platform lock-in
A Wix site cannot be moved to another host — you rebuild from scratch; Tilda exports code only on a paid plan. DEXA hands you the code.

No ceiling from a ready theme
Design and code are written for you: any block, animation or integration can be added later, without “the template can’t”.

Visible to Google and AI search
Crawlers and AI engines get finished HTML, with no dependence on heavy JavaScript. Crawlers like GPTBot and ClaudeBot do not run JavaScript at all.

Cheaper to run
Static pages mean inexpensive hosting and fewer updates: nothing “breaks after a plugin update”.

What this gives you
- Speed that lifts both rankings and conversion: the site never keeps people waiting.
- Nothing on the public page to “hack” and nothing to patch every week.
- The site is yours: the code, the access and the domain, continueable with any team.
- It grows without a rebuild — a new block, animation, integration or section.
- Both Google and chat assistants see you, because they read finished HTML.
When Astro is overkill
We will not sell a technology where something simpler serves. If you need one page for a month, with no plan to grow and no speed demands, a builder is cheaper and more honest. A ready modular store without custom design is a different tool. Astro earns its place when the site is an asset for years: speed, security, and the right to leave at any time.
And where do React and Next.js fit
Where there is a client area, a heavy dashboard or a CRM with real logic behind the login: Astro for sites and public storefronts, React / Next.js for interactive dashboards. Public pages still ship as finished HTML, so search and AI can read them.
Common questions
Astro or WordPress — which to choose?
For a marketing site edited without a developer that must be fast and secure, Astro. WordPress suits you if you need a large plugin system and will maintain it. Ready WordPress themes are often a slow site that then breaks on updates.
Will Google and ChatGPT see my site?
Yes. Astro serves finished HTML before scripts load, so both ordinary search and AI crawlers that do not run JavaScript can read it. We add schema.org markup too, so the answers are unambiguous.
Can I edit the site myself?
Yes. Copy, products and pages are edited from an admin panel (a headless CMS) without a developer. Larger changes — a new section or integration — are a job for a team, but not a rebuild from scratch.
Is a site on Astro more expensive?
No. The price is the designer and developer work, not an engine licence. Hosting a static site is usually cheaper than WordPress, because there are no plugins and a database to keep updating.
What if I want to change studio?
The code, the access and the domain are handed to you, so any team can continue. That is exactly why we do not build on closed builders from which a site cannot be moved.
