Lawyer Website: The Structure That Builds Trust

Structure of a legal services site: practice areas, case notes without disclosure, an enquiry into Telegram. What a lawyer website costs in 2026.

Lawyer Website: The Structure That Builds Trust
Alona Holovan

Short answer: a lawyer’s website is anything from two pages to a multi-page practice site where a client sees within three minutes: your specialisation, experience, how you work, and a way to make contact without “call us and tell us everything”. The entry point is the “Start 500” card at from $506 (₴21,000); a landing page for one practice area is from $699 (₴29,000). Legal services sell on reputation, which is why a lawyer’s site is not “a card with a phone number” but a document read as carefully as a contract.

What matters in 30 seconds

  • The client arrives with a concrete problem (“being evicted”, “wages not paid”, “registering a company”) — the site must answer in the language of those queries, not a list of “civil, criminal, commercial”.

  • The minimum trust set: training and experience, practice areas, written-up cases with no names or details, a price or a “price after enquiry” without a hidden “we’ll discuss in the meeting”.

  • Advocate status is publicly verifiable — in the Unified Register of Advocates of Ukraine; a link to your register card is a trust argument on the site.

  • The money: from $506 (₴21,000) (a card) up to $1,325 (₴55,000) (a firm site with a list of practices and a protected client account).

Why a lawyer needs a site if clients come “by recommendation”

A recommendation is a fine channel that you cannot steer: not in a bad month, not in a new practice area. A site does three things no word of mouth will do:

  1. It catches the query before the conversation. A person with a problem first searches “what to do if wages are not paid”, not “lawyer needed in my city”. A page built around that specific question brings a client who is already half decided.
  2. It filters enquiries. From a site that shows formats and cost guides up front, the people who write are those who match your budget — and those looking for “do it for free” do not write.
  3. It records reputation. A public text stating “what we take on and what we decline” works for trust longer than any promise in a chat.

What a lawyer’s site must contain

A legal services site is built as an answer to two client questions: “is this person right for my case?” and “will they disappear with my money?”.

BlockWhat doubt it removesWhat exactly
First screen“Is this my case?”Specialisation in one phrase + cities or online + an enquiry button
Practice areas“Have they done this before?”Three to six areas in client language: eviction, debts, company registration, car accidents — not branch names
About the advocate“Who is answerable?”Training, years of practice, certificate, a link to the Unified Register (verified 09.10.2026)
Cases“What does the work look like?”“situation → what was done → result”, with no names and no identifiable details
Formats and prices“How much and how?”Consultation, representation, one-off work; the price or a band, and payment rules
Enquiry“How do I start without the awkwardness?”A short form: topic + contact; the request goes to Telegram or email

Advertising an advocate: where the line sits

Legal services are a field with professional restrictions: for advocate activity the law defines a separate status, rights and duties — the Law of Ukraine “On Advocacy and the Advocate’s Activity” of 05.07.2012 No. 5076-VI (law text, verified 09.10.2026), and the ethics rules come from the decisions of the advocate self-governance bodies.

The practical approach that contradicts none of those documents: a lawyer’s site is an information card, not a market of promises. Which means:

  • describe experience, practice areas, formats and a principled cost — without “we win any case” and without “100% result”;
  • avoid “best”, “only”, “guaranteed win” — not out of fear, but because your client reads such promises as a red flag;
  • write cases without names, case numbers or identifiable details: advocate privilege costs more than any banner.

This article is about the site and the technical side, not about ethics: before publishing, read the current edition of the relevant law and the rules of your bar council.

What a lawyer’s website costs

Prices from DEXA’s open price list, as of 09.10.2026:

ScenarioWhat it isGuide
A one-person practice“Start 500”: a card on proven blocks, enquiries into Telegram, hosting, SSLfrom $506 (₴21,000), launched within 5–7 days
Advertising a repeatable practice areaA landing page per area (bankruptcy, car accidents, immigration) with a custom layoutfrom $699 (₴29,000), budget up to 45 000 ₴
A firm with several lawyersMulti-page site: team, practice areas, publications, a protected client accountfrom $1,325 (₴55,000), timeline 4–6 weeks

Cost separately: practice and case copy (if none exists, that is its own estimate line with a copywriter), the support plan from $72 (₴3,000)/mo so articles and prices do not freeze after half a year, and, if needed, a chat for first-line qualification of enquiries — about the chat with answers and handover to Telegram.

Launch in three steps

  • A short brief: practice areas, target queries, payment format — from this we build the structure and an estimate with a fixed amount.

  • Content: together we phrase the practice areas in client language and prepare two or three case write-ups with no disclosure; you approve the first screen and the experience text personally.

  • Launch: the domain in your name, form requests into Telegram or email, analytics and baseline SEO in the package; after that, per the support plan.

Mistakes that cost trust

  • A list of branches instead of problems. “Civil law” says nothing to a person being evicted; “evicting unlawful tenants” says everything.

  • Internet photos instead of your own office and face: trust in a lawyer is sold by authenticity, not by stock hands holding a ruler.

  • A price “on request” only, with no guide at all: you will get written to by people indifferent to cost, and not by those you actually fit.

  • Promises of a win — legally risky, and to the target client a signal of bad faith.

How we do this at DEXA

We build legal sites on the same principle as the rest of our “trust fields”: a calm design without loud noise, speed measured before handover, the Lighthouse report attached to the acceptance certificate, and full transfer of access and code to you. The enquiry form stays short but qualified: topic, contacts, timing expectations — so you are not sorting “give me free advice” requests by hand, and the messenger keeps the queue.

Questions lawyers ask before ordering a site

May an advocate publish prices on the site?

The question is not a ban on numbers but the wording: a cost guide for a service or format (“consultation — X, representation — from Y”) is information for the client, not a promise of result. The frame of professional restrictions sits in Law No. 5076-VI and the rules of your bar council; technically we build site prices so they are easy to update without redesign work.

A site or a register entry: is the register not enough?

The register confirms status but says nothing about practice: a client sees a surname and a certificate date. The site answers their actual questions — whether this case fits you, how work is arranged, what it costs. The best pairing: the site links to your register card, the register holds your status, and both trust documents work together.

How many pages: one or a whole portal?

We start with one to three: first screen, practice areas, enquiry. A portal with articles makes sense when content is live — two or three publications a month against the search queries of your practice. An empty “information section” is worse than none: a client measures the firm’s seriousness by freshness, not volume.

Do I need reviews if client matters are confidential?

As with a psychologist — almost never publicly. Instead of reviews, details that give nothing away work: named-free case write-ups “situation — decision”, clear positions under “we do not take on…”, links to the certificate and the register.

Will search find me if I am in a small town?

Yes, if the site is built for queries rather than branch names: “personal bankruptcy in [city]”, “lawyer after a car accident”. Baseline SEO — structure, meta tags, schema.org — is in every package; it is not sold as a separate “SEO service”.

The service page for your scenario is the site card or a landing page; next in the list — how to write a website brief, local search promotion and what is inside the card price. Compare formats in builder or studio, and work out the budget on the pricing page.
