Website Business Card: What It Is, Examples, Contents
A business-card website explained: the pages it needs, what belongs above the fold, four real examples from our client work, prices and timelines.
Short answer: a business-card site is not “a page with a phone number”. It is 1–3 pages where a person learns in one minute what you do, what it costs, where you are and how to book, without opening Instagram to find out. A working card is enough for a barbershop, a solo master, a kindergarten, a psychologist’s practice and a small service company. It will not replace an online store, and it will not hold demand when enquiries outpace what you can take. Card Lite — from $699 (₴29,000), Standard — from $940 (₴39,000), Premium — from $1,181 (₴49,000), the ready “Start 500” build — from $506 (₴21,000) in 5–7 days.
What matters in 30 seconds
A card answers five questions in a minute: what you do, what it costs, where you are, how to reach you, why you differ.
A visible price is the main difference from “a page with a phone number”. Without it the card collects almost no enquiries.
The first screen carries the point: the next free slot, a priced service, or a booking button.
Three pages are usually enough: home, services with prices, contacts with a map.
A card stops being the right tool when stock, delivery or client accounts enter the picture.
Timelines run from 5–7 days for a ready build to 4–5 weeks for a card with booking and animation.
What a business-card site is, and how it differs from a landing page
A business-card site is a small website that introduces a business and drives one action: call, write, book, get directions. Every page works for that action.
A landing page is built around one offer and one traffic source: ad → page → enquiry. A corporate site is a service catalogue, case studies, careers, a blog and several traffic streams at once. The card sits between them: cheaper than a corporate site, and it carries more than a single ad page can.
| What we compare | Business card | Landing page | Corporate site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Question it answers | “who are you and where are you” | “is this service right for me” | “which of your services do I need” |
| Pages | 1–3 | 1 | 5–20 |
| Action on the site | call, booking, directions | enquiry from an ad | enquiry, price list, cases, careers |
| Who arrives | brand search, maps, a friend’s advice | paid-traffic visitor | someone comparing contractors |
| Registry price | $699–1,181 (₴29,000–49,000) | $699–1,566 (₴29,000–65,000) | $1,325–3,494 (₴55,000–145,000) |
| Timeline | 2–3 weeks–4–5 weeks | 2–3 weeks–4–6 weeks | 3–4 weeks–6–10 weeks |
Blurring these formats suits the contractor, not the client. Sell a “landing page” instead of a card and you get one long ad page with no service list, no map and no opening hours. Sell a “corporate site” instead of a card and you get an invoice for 15 pages, half of which you cannot fill.

The pages a working card is made of
One screen is already a website. The difference between “there is a page” and “there is a card” is what the blocks contain.
- First screen. What you do, for whom, and the nearest action. One button — “Book”, “Get a quote”, “See prices” — not four.
- Services with prices. A list with a “from” price and a duration. This is the block that makes people read on or close the tab.
- Work samples. Before-and-after photos, seven to ten examples, links to finished projects. Without it, visitors have to take your word.
- About and reviews. Name, years of practice, what sets you apart. Reviews carry a name and a date, never default stars.
- Contacts with a map. Address, hours, a
tel:link, messenger, directions button. For a premises-based business, also a link to the Google Business Profile. - Booking or form. A free window taken from a real schedule, not a text box that says “write to us”. A form with no owner behind it becomes a mailbox nobody checks.
- Frequent questions. Three to six of the things people ask on the phone: is there parking, how far from the metro, what the price includes, who to call at the weekend.
What does not belong: a company history starting in 2014, a news section you never update, a ten-person team when there are ten people only in the photo, a shopping cart when you do not sell online.

What belongs above the fold
The first screen decides the card’s fate in six seconds. Three formats work across niches:
- The next free window. For a barbershop, a beauty studio, a kindergarten: “next free slot — Thursday 14:00” and a booking button. The person decides before calling.
- A priced service. For a solo master, cleaning crews, renovation teams: “manicure from 600 ₴, 90 minutes”. A price on screen removes the fear of “what if it is expensive”.
- A project or a piece of work. For a construction company, a photographer, an architect: a large photo of finished work with a caption saying what it included.
What to avoid: a five-banner slider, an autoplaying video, a twelve-field form, “Welcome to our website” instead of a service name, and a button that leads to Instagram instead of doing something on the site.
Four examples from our client work
These are real DEXA projects. For each: what the business had before, what we built, how long it took. We do not publish clients’ commercial figures, so what follows is the scope.
A barbershop in Lviv
Six chairs in the centre, bookings arriving through Instagram DM, phone calls and Telegram. Nobody answered messages in the evening, and some customers booked with the shop next door instead. We built a Standard card: a first screen with booking to a specific barber, services with prices, barbers with their work, a loyalty club, gift certificates paid by card. The schedule lives in a CRM, confirmations and reminders arrive through the Telegram bot. Details in the barbershop case, 4–5 weeks.
A private kindergarten on Obolon
Three groups, an old site with photos and a phone number, an Instagram page. No prices, no menu, no daily routine, so the director answered the same questions every day. We built a Standard card: a page per group with age, group size, monthly price and free places, the daily routine, the weekly menu, teachers with their training, booking for a tour or a trial day, and a waiting list per group. The lead lands in the Telegram bot and in a status spreadsheet. See the kindergarten case, 3–4 weeks.
A beauty studio in Lviv
Three masters, bookings through DM, Viber and phone calls, prices sent in private messages. We built one page: a first screen showing the next free window, a price list by category with “from” prices and durations, masters with their experience and work, booking with card prepayment, confirmation and reminder. Details in the beauty studio case, 3–4 weeks.
A psychologist’s practice
A private practice where the client searches “psychologist Lviv in-person session” and is afraid to write first. A card explaining the format of work, the price per session, how booking happens, the confidentiality policy, and answers to the awkward questions. Example: the psychology practice case.

What a card costs, and what moves the number
The registry holds one price for the whole site, so it is never “confirmed after a conversation”. The tiers differ in scope, not in decoration.
| Tier | What it includes | Price | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ready “Start 500” build | your design from a finished set, launched in a week | from $506 (₴21,000) | 5–7 days |
| Card · Lite | one page, custom layout | from $699 (₴29,000) | 2–3 weeks |
| Card · Standard | up to 3 pages, scroll animation, booking or form | from $940 (₴39,000) | 3–4 weeks |
| Card · Premium | up to 3 pages, extended design, integrations | from $1,181 (₴49,000) | 4–5 weeks |
| Support after launch | edits, content changes, monitoring | from $72 (₴3,000)/mo | monthly |
| Service | From | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Ready "Start 500" build (site-card or landing) | from $506 (₴21,000) | 5–7 days |
| Site-card · Lite (1 page, custom layout) | from $699 (₴29,000) | 2–3 weeks |
| Site-card · Standard (up to 3 pages, scroll motion) | from $940 (₴39,000) | 3–4 weeks |
| Site-card · Premium (up to 3 pages, advanced motion, 2 languages) | from $1,181 (₴49,000) | 4–5 weeks |
| Support · Lite | from $72 (₴3,000)/mo | monthly |
Three things that actually move the price inside a tier:
- Content. If you supply text and photos, it is faster and cheaper. If we write and collect it, that is separate work, and it is not in Lite.
- Booking and payment. A master calendar, prepayment, a bot — that is integration, which is why Standard and Premium cost more than Lite.
- Number of languages. Two languages mean two sets of copy and two addresses in the index.
How to check a finished card before you pay
Five minutes and a phone, not a desktop: most of your customers will open the site from a hand.
Acceptance checklist
Open the home page on a phone in a private window: after 6 seconds, can you tell what the business does and what it costs.
Scroll to contacts: does the phone number tap, does the map open, are the hours visible.
Search Google for the business name plus the city: is your site in the first rows, and does the profile link to a menu or booking.
Send the link to someone who has never heard of you and ask what they understood and whether they would call.
Book or submit a lead yourself: does it reach the person who is supposed to answer.
Check whether you can change a price yourself: if moving 600 ₴ to 650 ₴ needs a developer, support at from $72 (₴3,000)/mo will be needed soon.
When a card is not enough
More than two or three dozen products, delivery, stock, a cart — that is an online store, from $1,446 (₴60,000).
More enquiries than you can handle and you need to track the funnel — that is a CRM, from $3,614 (₴150,000).
Client accounts, roles and reporting — that is a web app, not a card.
A site already exists but is slow and awkward — start with targeted fixes at from $241 (₴10,000) or a speed-up at from $241 (₴10,000); a new card is not the answer.
You do not yet know where customers will come from: a card does not attract traffic on its own. It needs maps, ads or word of mouth.
How we build cards at DEXA
- Ready "Start 500" build (site-card or landing) — from $506 (₴21,000) · 5–7 days (About this service)
The brief is free and we answer it within 2 working hours. The estimate, the deadline and a 30-day warranty go into the contract before work starts. Payment is staged: 50/50 on Lite, then 30/40/30. You change prices and hours yourself in the admin panel, not by editing a file.
Questions owners ask
Can I build the card myself on a website builder?
You can, and for testing an idea it is the right first step. The difference starts where you need booking against a real schedule, payments, two languages, speed and search: a builder bills you monthly and keeps the code, and a custom layout plus integrations still needs a person. The model comparison is in the guide on builders, freelancers, studios and AI.
How many pages should a card have?
One to three. Four or more usually means you need a corporate site: services that each need explaining, case studies, careers, a blog.
Do I have to show prices?
If the goal is enquiries, yes. A “from” price and a duration remove the fear of calling and not learning the number. Showing the full price list is the owner’s decision; we never put in figures the registry does not carry.
Will Google see me if the site is one page?
It will. A single page gets indexed, but it can only answer a limited set of queries. For a niche with many questions, two or three pages with proper headings work better — and that is still not a corporate site.
What about the domain and hosting: are they mine?
The domain is registered to you and the access is handed over before delivery. Details are in the guide on not losing a site after launch.
Do I need a card if I already have Instagram?
You need it if you want the business found in search and on maps. A social feed does not show your price list to someone who is not following you, and it does not live in Google’s index as a page with answers.
How long does a launch take if I need the site this month?
The ready “Start 500” build ships in 5–7 days for from $506 (₴21,000) with a fixed scope. A custom card starts at 2–3 weeks. If you need booking against a real master schedule, plan for 3–4 weeks.
